About This Tour
Day 1: Leave Athens heading northwest through Beotia, via Thebes and Levadia, to the picturesque mountain village of Arachova on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. Visit the Archaeological Site of Delphi - the sanctuary of Apollo Pythios, the Treasury of the Athenians and the Temple of Apollo. Continue through the villages of central Greece to Kalambaka at the foot of the Meteora rock formations. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Visit the ageless monasteries of Meteora, perched high atop massive granite pillars between earth and sky, containing priceless historical and religious treasures. Return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia and the historic pass of Thermopylae, with a stop at Leonidas' Monument.
Itinerary
- 1Day 1 - Depart Athens via Thebes & Levadia to Delphi. Visit Archaeological Site (Treasury of Athenians, Temple of Apollo, Museum). Proceed to Kalambaka. Dinner & overnight.
- 2Day 2 - Meteora monasteries perched atop giant rock formations. Return via Trikala, Lamia & Thermopylae.
